This Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie.
How perfect is that? Made with two kinds of chocolate chips and a splash of Grand Marnier,
this pie has the chewy, chocolate-y goodness of a warm chocolate chip cookie,
baked inside flaky pie crust.
But we’re friends right? In this post I’m sharing a recipe given to me by a friend, many years ago.
And really, just one slice won’t hurt. Not a teensy weensy bit. And your kids will love you for it!
I’m never sure if it’s the two kinds of chocolate chips, the delicious creamy cookie dough filling, or the decadent orange liqueur that makes this Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie my absolute favorite for entertaining. It’s easier to make than chocolate chip cookies!

The Best Recipes Come From Our Friends
I was first introduced to this recipe by a friend over twenty years ago, and I continue to change the ingredients to make it even better each time I bake it! I swapped out the vanilla years ago for my favorite brand of orange flavored liqueur – Grand Marnier.
You can serve my Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie with whipped cream and drizzled chocolate sauce, or with the very best French Vanilla ice cream you can find as shown here.
This recipe makes a deep dish pie – about 10″ that will serve 8-10 people. The pie is so rich and filling, a small sliver will do. But be prepared for your guests to ask for seconds! And they will certainly ask for the recipe. Then it will become YOUR Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie Recipe. Right on.

A Pie Foundation?
Yes. While making this pie is really easy, we have to talk about the foundation. And that’s the flakiest, yummiest pie crust ever!
See how flaky the pie crust is in this picture? There are many ways to make pie crust, but after 40 years of baking pies, this is my GO TO recipe every time for perfect flaky pie crust. The magic happens with the blending of flour and fats. I’m a firm believer in combining both butter and vegetable shortening. My Mom and Grandma always used Crisco, and their pies were amazing. But I love the taste of butter and how golden my pie crust bakes because of it. So now I combine both in my no fail recipe – you can see the recipe here!

how to build your very own
Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie.
Looks beautiful doesn’t it? The pie bakes a sweet sugary crust on top of the cookie dough. Oh yes it does!
Now I served this Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie at my sister’s recently. We had the Snider family together, and that included my brother, David, my sister Cathy and her family and of course Mark and I and the pups. It was so much fun to see everyone! Of course I’m usually asked to bring the dessert! Translation = Pie. 🙂 And this yummy confection did not disappoint.
See the delicious layers of chocolate, walnuts and yumminess all nestled in the flakiest pie crust!
- 1 pie crust 10" deep dish, unbaked, chilled for 1/2 hour
- 3 large eggs lightly beaten
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 6 tbsp butter melted & cooled
- 2 tbsp. orange liqueur
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- Combine the eggs, sugar, butter and liqueur and stirring lightly until blended
- Stir in the flour
- Add the chocolate chips and walnuts
- Stir all to combine well
- Pour into the pie shell.
- Bake in the bottom third of a preheated oven at 350F/180C for one hour or until a knife comes out clean.
- Chill 4 hours before serving (or overnight)
- To warm, place in the oven at 375F for 10 minutes.
- Garnish with real whipped cream and hot fudge sauce!
