A big slice of homemade pie makes everyone happy. I defy you not to smile when served a slice of apple or pumpkin pie with a dollop of whipped cream on top.  In our home, pies were served for special occasions, like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Those traditional times when families gather to celebrate all that is good in life.
